Why mediation?

Mediation is both faster and cheaper than court. It is a confidential service that helps you resolve your issues quickly at a fraction of the time and the legal cost. It provides the experience needed to help you come to a mutually beneficial agreement.

Does the mediator decide for us?

NO. The mediator is impartial. They do not decide for you.

At what stage in a dispute can mediation be used?

Mediation can be used at any stage of a dispute. At the first steps or it can also be used at any time during litigation or arbitration.

What is the role of the mediator?

The mediator helps people explore ways of reaching a resolution and/or putting the relationship onto a more positive footing. The mediator will help people identify the key issues of concern and options for moving forward.

How long does it take?

Many disputes can be resolved in one or two mediation sessions. More complex disputes may take longer. Mediation is flexible and will only last as long as the process is useful and an agreement is possible.

What will mediation cost?

Mediation is an extremely cost-effective option. We charge an hourly rate which differs for preparatory work and the mediation sessions themselves.

Will I have to be in the same room as the other person?

The mediation process can involve meeting directly or can involve the mediators meeting the people concerned separately. Mediation can also involve the parties using an online platform.
